I need to get something off my chest.
People have been impersonating me online for a while now. They steal my photos, use my face, and pretend to be me. It’s gotten worse over time, and honestly, it’s just annoying. I block two or three fake accounts every week, and it’s getting old. But I never really thought about the bigger consequences until recently.
I got a phone call from a woman whose father was being scammed by someone claiming to be me. They were using my picture on a dating site, and he believed he was talking to me. I couldn’t believe it. Luckily, she was smart enough to Google me. If you search “Cindy Rose” or “the Bombshell Nurse,” you’ll find pages and pages of me. Put it all together and it’s pretty easy to tell whether you’re actually talking to me or not.
And here’s the part that made me laugh. The scammer even claimed I was the one stealing her pictures. I have thousands of photos online. Thousands! Growing up, we were always told that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I told my girls the same thing. If someone wants to dress like you, they just want to be like you, and that’s okay.
I actually love that. I want women to embrace who they are and dress the way they want. That’s why I talk about my fashion so much, and why I’ll keep wearing bikinis at 60 and beyond. I want other women to feel free to do the same.
So copy my style. Be inspired by whatever I’m doing. But don’t try to be me. Be yourself, and put that out there for the world to see.
Stay lovely,
Cindy Rose, The Bombshell Nurse
